word of the week: insipid
triggered by a re-viewing of 'shakespeare in love'.
every time i remember that that film won an academy award for best picture i get a ball of totally irrational furious frustration in the pit of my stomach, very similar to the feeling i get when i hear about racial injustice, police abuse, or the vegetarian options on the menu at subway.

re: the movie: i think i saw it but don't remember it. i assume the award was because Tom Stoppard wrote it? the award was for idea, not execution, then, i assume.
